Is the Definite performance line BPA| PFAS free?
Yes. Our performance apparel and accessories are made with high-quality recycled plastic that is tested BPA and PFAS free and fit for human use.
This is an important question to ask. A recent study found that more than 80 sock brands had harmful levels of the chemical BPA and PFAS – with some containing more than 31 times the legal limit.
Biodegradable – really?
For real. Definite Articles is the planet’s first biodegradable performance brand. We knew that traditional socks leak plastic into our environment, polluting our waterways and food supply for centuries – literally centuries. We knew there had to be a better way – so we found one.
We partnered with scientific and textile experts to learn from their research and innovative thinking in designing our performance line. We use a natural additive called CiCLO when spinning our yarns that make the synthetic materials – polyester and nylon - in our performance wear behave like natural fibers. Independent testing shows polyester and nylon treated with CiCLO achieve between 75 and 92 percent biodegradation in less than 2.5 years when in landfill, sea water and soil conditions.
Because no way should our clothes outlast us.
What is CiCLO?
CiCLO is a natural additive we use when spinning our yarns that makes the tiny plastic particles in our performance wear act like natural fibers – so they behave more like wool, less like spandex.
CiCLO creates the tiniest of holes within the plastic fibers, and these holes enable the fabric to break down and biodegrade just like natural fibers would. The CiCLO technology does not change the stretch, support and strength of the performance sock. It simply allows the performance wear to decompose after you’ve worn it out.
Will my DA gear biodegrade in my closet?
Not a chance. Definite Articles designs performance wear to do just that – perform. It is made to be stretched and sweated in again and again. Only when you’re ready to say goodbye to the hardest working clothes in your closet, they will biodegrade when placed in landfill, sea water and soil conditions – typically, where recycled clothes languish when discarded.

Is DA gear durable?
Yes, most definitely. We designed our performance wear with movement in mind to support every level of play. They’ve run marathons, traversed trails, played tennis, and walked fairways. Definite Articles hold up.
Where are Definite Articles made?
Close to home. All in, the Definite collection is made within a geographic footprint that spans just 2,500 miles in the Americas.
It starts with locally sourced yarns spun in North Carolina. The yarns are stitched into our premium, performance gear in Colombia. They are packaged into biodegradable bags in a fulfillment center in Texas and, from there, delivered to their new home – on you. Small footprint, big impact.

Do I need an account to place my order?
You don’t need an account to order your Definite gear and can checkout as a guest. But you may want to sign up. With an account, you’ll have exclusive access to new product drops and community initiatives.
Can I cancel my order?
We will cancel the order and issue a refund if you contact us by email before your order has been processed in our warehouse. Typically, this occurs 24-48 hours after you place the order.

Shipping
How do I track my order?
You will receive tracking details in a confirmation email when your order is dispatched. If there’s an issue, please reach out - contact@definitearticles.com - and provide your order number.
What delivery options do you provide?
Because we want you to feel good about your DA gear, we offer free shipping on all orders and returns within the U.S. All shipping methods have online tracking.
Do you offer international shipping?
For now, Definite performance wear ships only within the U.S. We strive to improve the shopping experience, however, and hope to broaden our customer reach in the future.
Returns and Exchanges
What's your return and exchange policy?
If you don’t love your Definite performance gear, let us know. Definite Articles accepts returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase, and you’ll receive a refund of your payment. Final sale items may not be returned, however.
How do I make a return or exchange?
Returns within 30 days of purchase are free of charge. Should you wish to make a return or exchange, simply follow these steps.
1. Retrieve your order number from the order confirmation email. Order numbers start with #23.
2. Visit our returns portal at https://definitearticles.happyreturns.com/ and follow the instructions to initiate a return or exchange.
3. You’ll receive an email confirmation once we’ve processed your return.
4.Your refund (or exchange) will be issued to the method of purchase once we receive the item.
Will I be refunded for shipping if I return or exchange an item?
We offer free shipping to make it seamless for you. Just use the prepaid return label that is included in your order.
When can I expect my refund?
Please be patient. We process your return when we receive your item to our warehouse. But it can take up to 10 business days for the refund to be credited to your account. While we submit the refund immediately, your bank or credit card company still must process the refund and apply it to your account. Processing time can vary. We will send a confirmation email as soon as we issue a refund.
Can I return an item after it’s been washed?
Unfortunately, no. We are happy to accept returns or exchanges of unworn, unwashed and undamaged products.
What if I received a damaged product?
We make every effort to ensure the integrity of every order. However, if you receive a damaged item, please take a photo of the damage and send this to questions@definitearticles.com along with your order number. We’re sorry, but don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.
