Brands flagged for toxic levels of BPA in athletic socks
What's in your socks matters.
A recent study found over 100 brands selling athletic socks with BPA levels up to 40Γ above accepted exposure limits. BPA is an endocrine disruptor β and during exercise, elevated body temperature and open pores create a direct pathway for chemical absorption through the skin.
One likely source: contaminated recycled polyester derived from plastic bottles. The same material often marketed as sustainable. PFAS β forever chemicals used for moisture-wicking β were found across major brands as well.
This is exactly why independent testing matters. We test every finished product for BPA, PFAS, and 50+ harmful substances. Our standard is non-detect: if the lab's instruments can find it, we don't use it.
